LIMAB Board Profiler measures the complete profiles of boards in transversal conveyors with a freely selectable number of measuring positions/tracks. The number of measuring positions is dependent of how big part of the boards that needs to be measured. Because the system is modular it can be adapted to every specific demand, which gives optimum performance and at the same time a cost effective solution. The system can easily be installed without any costly mechanical rebuilding of existing line. Internal communication in the system is by CAN-bus, which minimizes cable connections and simplifies installation.

Externally the system as standard communicates via serial interface RS232C and TCP/IP is also possible. The basic component in the system is our newly developed laser gauge PreciCura. It uses the latest digital and optical laser technology with advanced built in microprocessor (DSP Digital Signal Processor) and high resolution CCD-array optical receiver. This gives the high measurement accuracy and speed needed in these applications. Additional benefits are low maintenance cost due to non contact measurement and reliability because the system is unaffected by surrounding light and level of moisture in the wood.

Software: The software
for Board Profiler MP runs under Windows 2000. The basic platform of the system is similar for all types of applications. There are a number of operator menus for general system settings, vane rules, reject rules, logging of board data and reject log.
