Using LIMABs Accura distance measurement sensors with the patented Height Vision option it is possible to measure the width of thin plates or strips. Two sensors, one on each side of the line, measures the distance to the edge of the target. The sensors are connected in master/slave mode where the master uses data from the slave to calculate the width of the product. The output can be directly connected to a PLC or PC for width measurement, edge or center guiding. The advantages with the Height Vision system are that camera solutions from above are eliminated along with parallax errors or complex positioning systems.
