LIMAB

History

  • LIMAB AB was founded in 1979, mainly as a supplier to the Swedish army.
  •  In 1985 LIMAB combined electronics and optics and became an optronic company, introducing its first laser measurement sensor.
  •  The Wood industry became the first business area.
  •  LIMAB filed several patents for laser sensor innovation.
  •  The Steel industry was introduced as a business area in 1989.
  •  In 1992 the old facilities became too small for LIMAB so the company moved to a new larger and more suitable building which is located on Exportgatan.
  •  In 1996 the third business area was introduced when LIMAB delivered the first gypsum board measurement system.
  •  In 1999 a new line of precision sensors was introduced. The Accura series soon became very popular.
  • LIMAB also opened two new sales companies in 1999 in Finland and France.  
  •  In 2000 LIMAB made its first business in China by supplying a steel company.
  •  LIMAB celebrates a late 20 years anniversary in 2000.
  • LIMAB North America Inc. was founded in 2001. The choice of location was Charlotte in North Carolina.
  •  LIMAB opened a new sales company in 2001 in Germany. 
  • The PreciCura range of sensors was launched in 2001 and soon became the most successful LIMAB product to date.
  • In 2003 LIMAB equipped 23 of National Gypsum’s factories with a GMS1100 system.
  •  In 2004 the new innovative HotProfiler was introduced in to the steel industry.
